Bedford……….Jerry Lewis Hudson, age 73 of Bedford died Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Spring Oak Senior Living in Bedford.

Born March 22, 1951 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Artie Thomas Hudson and Rosie Bixby Hudson.  He was predeceased by six brothers, Larry Hudson, Gene Hudson, Eldridge Hudson, James Hudson, Charles Hudson and William Hudson; and two sisters, Alice Eubank and Clarice King.  Mr. Hudson was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam.  He retired from Klopman Mills; and enjoyed playing chess and watching Westerns.

He is survived by one son, Jamie Hudson and wife, Tiana of Gretna; two daughters, Traci Thompson of Gretna and Heather VanDerHyde and husband, Chris of Altavista; one brother, Artie Hudson and wife, Terry; four sisters, Julia Swain, Louise Nichols, Barbara Collins and Ruth Pierce; two grandchildren, Chris Thompson and wife, Rebeca and Jonah Hudson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Green Lawn Cemetery by Pastor Tim Kyser.  Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the graveside.
