Gretna……….Jean Mae Kitts Deskins, age 72 of Gretna died Monday, June 29, 2015 at her residence.
Born February 7, 1943 in Tazewell she was a daughter of the late Nelson Kitts and Hattie Alley Kitts. She was predeceased by her husband, Luther Freeman Deskins; a daughter, Daisy White; a son, James Earls; a brother, Richard Kitts; and three sisters, Vickey Abel, Nannie Sullivan and Kathrine Griffith. Mrs. Deskins was a seamstress and a member of the Gretna Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, cross word puzzles; and sweets, especially ice cream and candy.
She is survived by one daughter, Perneice White and her husband, Roger of Gretna; two brothers, Albert Kitts and Alfred Kitts; two sisters, Edna Howell and Margaret Pruitt; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a "grand dog," Josey.
Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Larry Robinson.
