Hurt……….Jean Davis Atkinson, age 74 of Hurt, died Friday, October 16, 2020 at her residence.

Born April 30, 1946 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of Margaret Tucker Davis of Gretna and the late Esther Lathen "E.L." Davis, Sr.  She was predeceased by one brother, E.L. "Sonny" Davis, Jr.  Mrs. Atkinson was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and she was a home maker.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Alvin Thomas Atkinson of the residence; one son, Allen Atkinson and wife, Jo Ellen of Hurt; one brother, Barry Davis of Gretna; one sister, Patsy Hutcherson and husband, Kenneth of Gretna; one grandson, Corey Atkinson of Floyd; two great-grandchildren, Carlee Atkinson, and Paisley Ingram; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
