Gretna…….Janie Brooks Worley, age 77 of Gretna died Thursday, November 30, 2023 at her residence.

Born May 5, 1946 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Walker Brooks, and Dollie B. Brooks.  She was predeceased by her husband, Edward "Ed" Wayne Worley; one sister, Sue Brooks; and one brother, John Brooks.  Mrs. Worley was a member of Straightstone Baptist Church, and she retired from Schrader-Bridgeport.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Renan Fire Department.

She is survived by one brother, Sam Brooks and wife, Rhonda of Gretna; three sisters, May Hershman of Gretna, Belle Brooks of Gretna, and Linda Taylor and husband, Mike of Hurt; two special nephews, David Brooks and wife, Olivia, and Michael Brooks and wife, Renee; two special great-nieces, Laney Brooks, and Allis Brooks; and one special great-nephew, Ollie Walker Brooks.

Private graveside services will be held at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden by Rev. James Manuel.
