Hurt…….Janie Reynolds Lanier, age 88 of Hurt died Monday, June 28, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born April 3, 1933 in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Payne Reynolds and Mary Elizabeth Maddox Reynolds.  She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Quention Lanier; one son, Herbert "Buck" Garland Lanier; five brothers, Johnny Reynolds, Jesse Reynolds, Willie Reynolds, Junior Reynolds, and James Reynolds; and four sisters, Annie Ferris, Sadie Kersey, Dorothy McClelland, and Alice Day.  Mrs. Lanier was a member of St. John Pentecostal Holiness Church and she retired from Klopman Mills.  She loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, going to the rodeo, and dancing.

She is survived by one grandson, Daniel Lanier and wife, Erin of Hurt; two great-grandchildren, Quenton Lanier, and Oakley Lanier; a special niece, Dalphine Waller of Altavista; and a special friend, Krissy Neal of Altavista.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2021 at St. John Pentecostal Holiness Church by Pastor Tim Lane.  Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12 to 1:00 p.m. at St. John Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. John Pentecostal Holiness Church, 6497 Dews Road, Hurt, VA 24563.
