Janice Saunders Davis, age 74 of Long Island passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

She was an active member of Edge Hill Baptist Church. Janice was kindhearted and always made friends with whomever she spoke to. She dedicated herself to her family and their happiness, going out of her way to provide for them and support them whenever she could. She helped her husband run Sonny's Automotive while also caring for her two sons and grandson. She cared for her parents after her father was disabled and would later care for her beloved husband during his long struggle with Parkinson's disease. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She was preceded in death by her husband E.L. (Sonny) Davis Jr., her father William Henry Saunders, her mother Annie Rowland Saunders, her brother William Amos Saunders, and her father-in-law Esther L. Davis Sr.

She is survived by her two sons, Timothy William Davis and his wife, Lucinda Doss Davis, and Zeus of Hurt and Brian Keith Davis and his wife, Yong Hui Davis of Altavista; one beloved grandson, James Ian Davis of Fairfax; two sisters Shirley Saunders Ramsey of Gretna and Agnes Saunders Davis of Danville; mother-in-law Margaret Tucker Davis of Gretna; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland.  Burial will follow in Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
