Hurt………Janet King Weeks, age 80 of Hurt died Monday, March 7, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born January 15, 1942 in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late Raleigh Noel King and Gladys Thurman King.  She was predeceased by two sons, Glenn Shelton and Jeremy Weeks; and by her first husband, James A. Shelton.  She retired from Abbott Laboratories.  Mrs. Weeks loved her family dearly; and she enjoyed going riding, going to the beach, flowers, making wreaths, riding the lawn mower, mowing grass, and outings with her two amigos, Faye and Mary.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Weeks of the residence; two daughters, Angie Russell and husband, Greg of Altavista and Kim Shelton and husband, Owen of Hurt; one son, Joe Weeks and wife, Sandy of Rustburg; one brother, Roger King of Gladys; six grandchildren, and eleven and a half great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Wyatt Miles IV.  Burial will follow in Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
