Altavista...........Janet Robertson Sherwood, age 62 of Altavista died Friday, March 17, 2017 at her residence.
Born February 21, 1955 in Lynchburg she was a daughter of the late John Board Robertson and Mary Lee Simpson Robertson. She was predeceased by two infant children, Christopher Mayhew and Christy Mayhew; and a brother, John Jerry Robertson. She was a member of Christian Life Church. Janet loved her children and grandchildren; and she enjoyed church activities, watching movies, listening to music, laughing, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by one son, Shaun Mayhew and wife, Donna of Goode; one daughter, Callie Burton of Altavista; one brother, Jeffrey Robertson and wife, Darnell of Hurt; one sister, Joan R. Thornburg and husband, BJ of Halifax; a sister-in-law, Mary Robertson of Hurt; a former sister-in-law, Carolyn Robertson of Long Island; and six grandchildren, Killian, Makayla, Ella, Hyatt, Amari, and Azariah;
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Michael Turner. Burial will follow in Edge Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
