Chatham…..Jane (Sis) Bailey Angell, age 73 of Chatham died Friday, September 19, 2014 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born January 12, 1941 in Newport News she was a daughter of the late Charlie Lanier Bailey and Catherine Elizabeth Minter Bailey. She was predeceased by her husband, Winston (Smokey) Franklin Angell, Sr.; a daughter, Cindy Dalton; a son, Keith Batchelor; a granddaughter, Brandi Dalton; and a great-granddaughter, Nikki Lynn Daniel. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gretna and was a former employee of Craddock-Terry. Mrs. Angell enjoyed flowers and ran Jane's Florist. She also enjoyed genealogy, oil painting, crafts, animals, birds, and spending time with people.
She is survived by a son, Marshall (Bruce) Simms Shelton, II of Gretna; three sisters, Jackie Haley of Gretna, Linda Lee of Newport News, and Charlotte Mitricska of Chatham; two brothers, Charles L. Bailey, Jr. of Chatham and John Thomas Bailey of Chatham; two grandchildren, Christy Osborne and Craig Aten; and one great-granddaughter, Aleigha Raye Osborne.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Bailey Family Cemetery by Rev. Charlie S. Haley, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
