Gretna…….James O. Wade (Handle man), age 91 of 2725 Blue Ridge Dr., Gretna died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at his residence.
Born June 17, 1922 in North Carolina, he was a son of the late Samuel Wade and Annie Mae Jones Wade. He was predeceased by five brothers, Marvin Wade, Mitchell Wade, Forest Wade, Ed Wade, and Wilton Wade; and one sister, Ruth Biswell. Mr. Wade was a former employee for Klopman Mills and was the owner and operator of Wade's Tools & Handles for over 36 years. He enjoyed socializing with people, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Fannie Price Matherly Wade of the residence; two sons, David Wade and wife, Tempie of Williamsburg and Fred Wade & wife, Jeneal of NC; one daughter, Judy Wade Shelton of Gretna; one brother, Broadus Wade of Fuquay Varina, NC; four grandchildren, Shannon S. Davis, Kristen B. Shelton, Alexandria Wade, and Daniel Wade; and two great-grandchildren, Lucas Davis and Nina Davis.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:30 P.M. Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Gretna Burial Park by Roy Parker, Minister.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
