Gretna……….James "Jim" Anderson Tucker, age 88 of Gretna died Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at his residence.

Born August 17, 1934 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late William Brace Tucker, Sr., and Elsie Moon Tucker.  He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Thompson Tucker; one daughter, Joan Tucker Foster; three brothers, W.B. Tucker, Henry Tucker, and Bill Tucker; and two sisters, Loter Coffey, and Inez Tucker.  Mr. Tucker was a member of Straightstone Baptist Church.  He worked at Klopman Mills for 17 years and BGF for five years.  Mr. Tucker was also a farmer and he loved his cows.

He is survived by two grandchildren, Cory Foster of Bassett and Charlotte Rowland of Gretna; two brothers, Buddy Tucker and wife, Marie of Gretna, and Reuben Tucker and wife, Judy of Gretna; two sisters, Margaret Davis of Gretna, and Jeannette Edwards and husband, Latane of Hurt; a special son-in-law, Mark Foster of Gretna; and a special nephew, Kimball Rowland and wife, Patricia of Gretna.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Dwayne Hammock.  Burial will follow in Straightstone Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his nephew and niece, Kimball and Patricia Rowland, 2140 Cody Road, Gretna.
