Hurt……James Berkley Keatts, age 74 of Hurt died Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born March 24, 1947 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Bob Berkley Keatts and Susie Pearl Dove Keatts.  He was predeceased by three brothers, Chesley Keatts, Curtis Keatts, and Harold "Buster" Perkins.  Mr. Keatts was a member of Spring Road Baptist Church and he retired from Klopman.  He enjoyed farming, hunting, gardening, and being outdoors.

He is survived by two brothers, Harold Keatts and wife, Eileen of Richmond, and Herbert Keatts and wife, Janie of Gretna; five sisters, Christine Perkins of Hurt, Lottie Lynch of Danville, Pearleen Kent of Yanceyville, NC, Edna Patterson of Hurt, and Ella Harvey of Hurt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Ronnie Simpson.  Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the residence of his sister, Ella Harvey, 3948 Scott Jacobs Memorial Drive, Hurt.
