Gretna……….James Geter Dalton, age 73 of 844 Glenland Road, Gretna, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born March 9, 1938 in Halifax County, he was a son of the late Whitt Thornton Dalton and Maude Zeffie Talbott Dalton. He was predeceased by two brothers, Price Dalton, and George Dalton; two sisters, Nannie Kate Clay, and Corrine Dawson; and a great-grandchild, Baby Logwood. Mr. Dalton was of the Baptist faith, and was retired from Ross Laboratories. He enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, woodworking, and his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Pierce Dalton of the residence; one son, Jeff Dalton and his wife, Tanya of Gretna; one daughter, Jackie Satterfield and her husband, Steve of Gretna; two brothers, Joseph Dalton of Gretna, and Benny Dalton of Martinsville; two sisters, Catherine Jones of Gretna, and Louise Betterton of Java; three grandchildren, Jarett Dalton and wife, Tara, Christy Gould and husband, Gary, and Donna Logwood and husband, Andrew; and four great-grandchildren, Jade Gould, Bianca Gould, Brianna Gould, and Andrew Logwood, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Dennis Nichols. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
