Obituary

Nathalie……….James Edward Eanes, Sr., age 80 of Nathalie died Monday, June 8, 2015 at Virginia Baptist Hospital.
Born October 4, 1934 in Pittsylvania County he was the son of the late Elbert Lee Eanes, Sr. and Annie Lee Brooks Eanes. He was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church and was a farmer. Mr. Eanes was also a carpenter, electrician and a co-owner of Cody's Store. He enjoyed playing music, working his gardens and raising hogs.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gloria Shelton Eanes of the residence; one son, James Eanes, Jr. and wife, Wanda; four daughters, Debbie Anderson and husband, Randy, Wanda Lee Eanes, Janet Rudder and husband, Ron and Teresa Davis and husband, Steve; one brother, Elbert L. Eanes, Jr. and wife, Linda; five sisters, Beulah E. Barbour, Christine E. Mitchell and husband, Godfrey, Janie E. Gibson, Lucy E. Williams and Cora E. Reeves and husband, Tommy; in-laws, Faye Harper and husband, Richard, Linda Haskins and Don Shelton and wife, Diane; ten grandchildren, Lesley (Mike) Lawhorn, Brian (Chassity) Anderson, Christopher Lynn, Brianne (Jesse) Rogers, Shelley (Jason) Faucette, Andrea Rudder, Corey Rudder, Emily (Don) Rickman, Sara (Michael) Thompson, Lauren Rudder; five step-grandchildren, Angie (Paul) Lawhorn, Robbie Davis, Heather Johnson, Kelly (Jeremy) Newton, and Katie Johnson; seven great-grandchildren, Brittney Lawhorn, Cody Lawhorn, Gina Lawhorn, Madison Anderson, Colton Anderson, Jaiden Faucette, and Wesley Faucette; and six step-great-grandchildren, Miranda Lawhorn, Seth Davis, Livey Rogers, Emma Rogers, Adrienne Newton and Summer Newton.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2015 at Mulberry Baptist Church by Rev. David Hanks and Rev. Latta Terry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
