Chatham………..James Albert Davidson, age 90 of Chatham, VA passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, June 19, 2018.

Born February 2, 1928 in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of late Gordon Woody Davidson and Berta Rigney Davidson. He was also predeceased by his brother Gordon Davidson and sister Marie Midkiff.

He is survived by his sister Glenda Watson(Howell), Billy Davidson, Bobby Davidson(Nancy), daughters Jan Davidson(Ralph), Kathy Mayes(Dave), Susan Thompson(Greg), his Grandchildren Brian, Jennifer, Erika, Ben, Jamie, Robbie, Jesseca, Colton and his Great Grandchildren Haley, Alyssa & Walker.

Mr. Davidson was many things in addition to the familial things. He was a great Golfer (Lefty), a CPA, a Poet, a Writer of some awesome editorials for the local paper, a Friend & a Gardener but the most important thing he was? He was a Believer, a Child of God, he prayed, he read his Bible. He passed away sitting on his porch, listening to the birds, enjoying the sunshine and his flower garden…peaceful. Our God is a Merciful God. He loves us in spite of our flaws and failures. We are heartbroken but so Joyful! We will see him again.
