Hurt..…..Jacob Evan Doss, age 19 of Hurt died Monday, July 19, 2021 as the result of an automobile accident.

Born September 6, 2001 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Philip Dean Doss and Teresa Farmer Doss of Hurt.  He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Newton Clay Doss and Kathryn "Kitty" Doss.  Jacob was a member of New Bethel Church of the Brethren and he was a 2019 graduate of Gretna High School.  He had a passion for music and was the lead guitarist and vocalist for his band, The Jacob Doss Project.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Danny and Barbara Farmer of Motley; one brother, Jody Paul Rowland of Hurt; uncles and aunt, Jeremy Farmer and wife, Gina of San Francisco, CA, Danny Farmer of Hurt, and Alan Doss of Chatham; nephew and nieces, Hunter Gauge Rowland, Olivia Grace Rowland, Sydney Madison Rowland, and Scarlett Rose Rowland; and his band members, Danny Farmer and Kevin Daye.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2021 at Gretna High School Auditorium by Intern Pastor Greg Hedrick and Rev. Leo Johnson.  Burial will follow in New Bethel Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
