Hurt…….Jacob Wesley "Jake" Adkins, age 25 of Hurt passed away Monday, December 29, 2025.

Born March 1, 2000 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Dean Adkins (Cindy Dinkle) of Hurt and Michele Rader Emerson and husband, Steve of Motley. He was predeceased by a sister, Deanna Adkins; his paternal grandfather, Wesley Adkins; and his maternal grandfather, Charles Rader.  Jake was an equipment operator with Haymes Brothers; and he enjoyed riding four wheelers and floating the river.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by four sons, Grayson Adkins, Jexton Adkins, Remington Adkins and Kolton Adkins; his paternal grandmother, Carolyn Adkins; his maternal grandmother, Betty Rader; one half-brother, Scott Childress; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Lynn Marstin.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
