Gretna………Ellis William "Jack" Dalton, age 98 of Gretna went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born June 15, 1923 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Jabe Anderson Dalton and Carrie Ellis Dalton.  He was predeceased by his wife, Hilda English Dalton; two brothers, Calvin Dalton and Harold Dalton; and five sisters, Regina Jones, Thelma Tuck, Juanita Elliott, Edith Moore, and Gladys Ballenger.  Mr. Dalton was a charter member of Sycamore Baptist Church and he retired from BGF Industries.  He loved his church, his Lord and his family.  He enjoyed farming, gardening, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan Stephens and husband, Calvin of Danville and Beth Saunders and husband, Michael of Gretna; two grandchildren, Jeremy Stephens and wife, Corrina of Nashville, TN, and Brooke Blackstock and husband, Craig of Lynch Station; and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Colton.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jason Andrews.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
