Irvin Weaver Doss

Hurt..........Irvin Weaver Doss, age 56 of Hurt, died Monday, May 3, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born December 8, 1953 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Jerry Goldie Doss and Mary Oakes Doss. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ollie Doss and Artie Nathaniel Doss. He was an employee of Doss Welding, a former employee of the Lane Company and a member of Straightstone Baptist Church. Irvin enjoyed helping his neighbors and working on small engines.
He is survived by two brothers, Bobby Doss of Gretna and George Doss of Altavista; three sisters, Darsie Taylor of Ringgold, Clara Childress of Hurt and Sara Smart of Michigan; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Straightstone Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. R.G. Rowland.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his sister, Clara Childress, 3200 Pocket Road, Hurt.
