Gretna………Iris Rowland Jarbeau, age 86 of Gretna died Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Coliseum Nursing and Rehab Center in Hampton.

Born October 19, 1938 in Gretna, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Otey Rowland and Mary Rigney Rowland.  She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Joseph Jarbeau, Sr.; and three brothers, Morris Randel Rowland, Elwood Lee Rowland and Birchie Rowland.  Mrs. Jarbeau was a member of Midway Baptist Church and she was a home maker.  She had a witty sense of humor; and had a love for dark chocolate, reading, and talking to people.

She is survived by one daughter, Teresa J. Jackson of Newport News; one son, Raymond "Joey" Jarbeau, Jr. and wife, Penny of Charles Town, WV; one brother, Lowell Rowland and wife, Melba of Danville; one sister-in-law, Sheila Rowland of Gretna; three grandchildren, Victoria Lynn Jackson, Rachel Christine Jackson and Timothy Joseph Jackson; and one great-granddaughter, Sophia Jackson.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Lynn Marstin.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
