Gretna..…..Irene Yeatts Myers, age 91 of 602 Leftwich Street, Gretna died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Virginia Baptist Hospital.
Born November 18, 1921 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late James Anderson Yeatts and Nannie Jane Bryant Yeatts. She was predeceased by her husband, Everette Willie Myers, Sr.; two sons, E.W.Myers, Jr. and Earl Myers; two brothers, Howard Yeatts and Roy Yeatts; and four sisters, Becky Jacobs, Gracie Brame, Hattie Yeatts, and Lura Shreve. Mrs. Myers was a member of Greenbay Christian Church and retired from the Lane Company. She was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the choir for many years. She enjoyed sewing, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Bobby Myers and his wife, Judy of Gretna; two daughters, Sherby Ingram of Apex, NC and Joyce Dalton and her husband, Larry of Gretna; one brother, Calvin Yeatts, Sr. of Gretna; 9 grandchildren, Crystal Myers, Mandy Myers, Tra Myers, Charity Peterson, Melissa Rains, Stuart Dalton, Margaret Myers, James Myers, and Grace Myers; and 3 great-grandchildren, Isaiah Myers, Emily Myers, and Cameron Rains.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Greenbay Christian Church by Lee Ashley, Minister, and Lory Brafford, Minister. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday, November 30, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
