Imogene (Jean) Price Wehunt
Hurt...........Imogene (Miss Jean) Price Wehunt, age 81 of Hurt died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab.
Born April 5, 1931 in Lavonia, GA she was a daughter of the late Marvin Price and Annie Gillespie Price. She married Winston Cecil Wehunt in 1950 and they were married 55 years before he passed away in 2005. Mrs. Wehunt moved to Atlanta in her late teens to work and help support her mom and sister. She worked for Sears, J.C. Penney and later owned and operated her own convenience store, aptly named "Mrs. Jean's Country Corner." In 2000, Jean and Cecil purchased property and move to Hurt, VA. They loved the rolling hills, beautiful countryside, and their neighbors. Mrs. Jean enjoyed her huge flower garden with over 50 varieties of day lilies and irises. She gave lots of her flowers away so they are still bringing enjoyment to others. She loved birds and always had a jigsaw puzzle in progress. Mrs. Wehunt was a member of First Southern Baptist Church. She also enjoyed looking after children, and loved gospel music.
She is survived by two daughters, Cecilia O'Rourke and her husband, Keith of Montgomery, TX and Sherri Dodd and her husband, Randy of Stockbridge, GA; 5 grandchildren, Andrea Kring, Cheri Starnes, Heidi Mixon, Shanda Dodd, and Cayden Dodd; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Bobby Brumfield and Rev. Randy Dodd. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday, March 15, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
