Gretna……Holly Edwards Bailess, age 50 of Gretna died Friday, March 25, 2022 at her residence.

Born July 13, 1971 in South Boston, she was a daughter of Nancy Tucker Edwards of Danville and the late Ray Bennett Edwards. She was predeceased by her husband, Chris Wayne Bailess; and one sister, Allison Durham. Holly graduated from Radford University in 1993 and was employed with the United States Postal Service for 29 years. She enjoyed being the mother hen to all her son's friends. She loved baseball, travel baseball and keeping up with "Tuck Tuck's" shoes. These were her proudest moments.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Tucker Bailess and girlfriend, Kelsi of the residence; two special nephews who she loved as her own, Ray Durham and girlfriend, Jordan of Chatham and Noah Durham and girlfriend, Abbigail of Chatham; and a brother-in-law, Gary Durham and his children, Wes Durham, Sheree Walker and husband, Jacob, Thor and Alyssa.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2022 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church by Rev. R.G. Rowland, Barbara Hubbard, Minister and Rev. Kyle Uselton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence.

The family suggest memorial donations be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
