Forest………Hilda Ferguson Motley, age 84 of Forest passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at her residence.

Born April 28, 1941 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Calvin Brantley Elliott and Flossie Rowland Elliott.  She was predeceased by one daughter, Cheryl Rowland; one brother, Gene Elliott and one sister, Yvonne Guthrie.  Mrs. Motley was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church and she retired from General Electric after 32 years of service.  She loved traveling, shopping and reading a good book.

She is survived by her husband, Ellis Joe Motley of the residence; one son, Michael Ferguson of Altavista; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special nieces, Rhonda Reynolds and Debbie Crews and husband, Randy; and special cousins, Cora Belle Brown and Joan Baumkirchner and husband, Nick.

Private graveside services will be conducted at Oak Grove Christian Church Cemetery by Robert Fuller.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Oak Grove Christian Church, in care of Robert Fuller Church Treasurer, 572 Robertson Lane, Danville, VA 24540.
