Gretna………Hildreth "Hilda" English Dalton, age 91 of Gretna went to be with the Lord Friday, October 22, 2021 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born November 12, 1929 in Toler, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Marvin Baxter English and Josephine Curry English. She was predeceased by one brother, Elmer "Buddy" English. Mrs. Dalton was a charter member of Sycamore Baptist Church, where she was the pianist for over 50 years. She was a home maker who enjoyed a simple life and she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Ellis W. "Jack" Dalton of Gretna; two daughters, Susan Stephens and husband, Calvin of Danville and Beth Saunders and husband, Michael of Gretna; two sisters, Carol Ann Moss of Gretna and Alma Lorraine Dalton of Gretna; one brother, David English and wife, Doris of Altavista; two grandchildren, Jeremy Stephens and wife, Corrina of Nashville, TN and Brooke Blackstock and husband, Craig of Lynch Station; and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Colton.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. Jason Andrews and Rev. Curtis English.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers, Linda and Darlene for all the care provided while Mrs. Dalton was at home and to all the nurses and staff at Gretna Health and Rehab Center for all of their care and compassion.
