Hurt……….Hilda "Teenie" Adams Worley Ward, age 92 of Hurt passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born July 18, 1932 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Delmas Smith Adams and Ora Bell Short Adams.  She was predeceased by her first husband, Rev. James Sidney Worley; her second husband, Woodrow Nelson Ward, Sr.; one son, Jimmie Dale Worley; two brothers, Percy Adams, Sr. and Wayne Adams; and two sisters, Martha "Tootsie" Dalton and Carol Meador.  Mrs. Ward attended Summersett Baptist Church. She was a pastor's wife for more than 40 years. She provided a loving home for her family and all who entered there. She also served in many other roles over the years, including singing at church with gospel groups, teaching Sunday School and working with the youth. She also worked with the Ladies Circle and the Jolly 60's. In her later years, she remained a faithful servant of the Lord. Only last week, she was witnessing and praying with fellow residents in long-term care.

She is survived by three daughters, Janet Worley of Evington, Kathy Dalton and husband, Stuart of Altavista and Debra Beale and husband, Rodney of Forest; two grandchildren, John Worley and Cara Dalton; and two great-grandchildren, Emerson Worley and James Pugh.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jason Andrews, Pastor Mike Dodson and Randolph Coffey.  Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.

The family is grateful and forever indebted to their mom's loving caregivers, Joann Rice, Nancy Shannon, Bonnie Cox and Doris Mann for the love and care they provided over the last few years.
