Gretna…….Herman Davis Crawley, age 93 of Gretna died Monday, October 18, 2021 at his residence.

Born September 27, 1928 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late George Coleman Crawley and Myrtle West Crawley.  He was predeceased by his wife, Claudine Dalton Crawley; and one great-grandchild, Molly Wales.  Mr. Crawley was a member of Piney Fork Baptist Church and he attended the First Baptist Church of Gretna.  He retired from the Lane Company; and he enjoyed making Blue Grass music and woodworking.

He is survived by two daughters, Dianne Pearson and husband, James of Danville, and Connie Chaney and husband, Jimmy of Gretna; four grandchildren, Stuart Pearson and wife, Audrey B, Ashley Pearson Wales and husband, Patrick, Trae Chaney and wife, Amanda, Dustin Chaney; six great-grandchildren, Avery Pearson, Amelia Pearson, Audrey Pearson, Pearson Wales, Helen Grace Wales, and Ady Davis; and caregivers, Brenda Farmer, and Alice Hardy.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. Bob Ballance and Rev. Jonathan Hilliard.

The family will receive friends at the residence.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
