Sandy Level……….Helen Joyce Hamblin, age 79 Sandy Level went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 12, 2013.
Born December 7, 1933 in Roanoke she was a daughter of the late Clarence Lawson and Virginia Nell Furrow Lawson. She was also predeceased by her husband, Donald Wray Hamblin; and a daughter, Phyllis Ann Crews. Mrs. Hamblin was a member of Round Pond Baptist Church and was a clerk. She enjoyed flowers, working puzzles, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by four grandchildren, James Crews and his wife, Lana of Sandy Level, Jennifer Crews and her partner Joan of Sandy Level, Julie Taylor and her husband Devin of Sandy Level, and Kim Crews of Sandy Level; one brother, Bud Lawson; a son-in-law, Milton Crews; four great-grandchildren, Nikki Taylor, Caroline Taylor, Brett Crews, and Jonah Crews; and three step-children, Donna, Mary Jean, and Buddy.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Round Pond Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Andrews and Rev. Brian Faison.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park by Rev. Mark Washington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 P.M. Monday, January 14, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
