Gretna……….Invalee Hazel Hedrick Edwards, age 95 of Gretna died Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born May 30, 1916 in Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Raleigh White Hedrick and Pearl May Atkins Hedrick. She was predeceased by her husband, Letcher Eldridge Edwards; two brothers, J.K. Hedrick, and Clark Hedrick; and three sisters, Grace Bousman, Nadine Yeatts, and Betty Howell. Mrs. Edwards was a member of West End Church of Christ and was a home maker. She attended Greenbay Christian Church; and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and reading the Bible. She was also a charter member of the Snow Creek Eastern Star.
She is survived by one daughter, Marie Burnette of Gretna; one brother, Van Hedrick of Altavista; two sisters, Joyce Crawley of Gretna, and Phyllis Derby of Syracuse, NY; and one granddaughter, Tina Marie Hayden of Gretna.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Greenbay Christian Church by Lee Ashley, Minister. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday, March 9, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her daughter, Marie Burnette, 940 Cotton Patch Road, Gretna.
