Gretna………Harry Lee Sherwood, Jr., age 79 of Gretna died Thursday, June 11, 2026 at his residence.

Born February 5, 1947 in Campbell County, he was a son of the late Harry Lee Sherwood, Sr. and Lucy Logwood Sherwood. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robbie Sherwood and Alvin Sherwood; two sisters, Betty Doss and Carol Tenza; one son, David Vaughan; and one grandson, Travis Thompson. Mr. Sherwood was Navy Veteran and was a member of Spring Road Baptist Church. Harry retired from the Lane Company after 33 years and following retirement, he worked 11 years for Abercrombie Oil. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch, watching tv and he loved his two dogs, "Jo-Jo" and "Princess".

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Rowland Sherwood of the residence; two sons, Ricky Sherwood and wife, Kathy of Waycross, GA and Chris Sherwood and wife, Marlena of Appomattox; two daughters, Jerri Thompson and husband, Donald "Duck" of Gretna and Gail Viar and husband, Ira of Lynchburg; two brothers, Tommy Sherwood of Lynchburg and Eddie Sherwood and wife, Cynthia of Hurt; four grandchildren, J.T. Sherwood and wife, Kathryn, Dale Sherwood, Elizabeth Yeatts and husband, Ryan, Daniel Boley and wife, Xio; six great-grandchildren, Jack, Kori, Sophia, Colby, Caleb and Julie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Spring Road Baptist Church by Pastor Ronnie Simpson and Rev. Brian Faison.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Spring Road Baptist Church.
