Evington..…..Harry Floyd Dalton, age 83 of Evington died Sunday, December 22, 2013.
Born February 3, 1930 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late George C. Dalton and Carrie Dalton. He was also predeceased by three brothers, Oscar Woodrow Dalton, Jessie (Mack) Dalton, and Robert Anderson Dalton; and one sister, Louise May (Ann) Elliott. Mr. Dalton was an Army Veteran of the Korean War where he served in a recon platoon. He was a former employee of
Ross-Abbott. He was a Moose Lodge member; and enjoyed playing pool, baseball, and loved old Westerns on T.V.
He is survived by his companion, Norma Fishpaw, Norma's daughter, Linda Carey and her husband, Danny, Norma's son, Sonny Fishpaw; four grandchildren, Shannon Stokes, Erin Carey, Joe Fishpaw, and Samantha Fishpaw; one great-grandson, Braxton Carey, and many nieces and nephews; three brothers, Roy K. Dalton and his wife, Betty, Elwood L. Dalton and his wife, Lucy, and Frank G. Dalton and his wife, Shirley; and two sisters, Carrie Simpson, and Linda Tuck and her husband, Calvin.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Bobby Brumfield. Burial with Military Honors by the Virginia National Guard Honor Guard will take place in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
