Obituary

Altavista……Harold "Buster" Jerry Perkins, age 71 of Altavista died Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born July 6, 1946 in Danville, he was a son of Lucille Dove Chatham of Danville. He was predeceased by his wife, Susan Barley Perkins; his adoptive parents, Robert "Bob" Keatts and Pearl Dove Keatts; and three brothers, Gordon Perkins, Curtis Keatts and Chesley Keatts. Mr. Perkins was a member at Spring Road Baptist Church and was a former employee of A.O. Smith. He enjoyed his garden, working on the farm; and playing cards, especially Rummy, Rook and Solitaire.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Joy Garcia and husband, Andre of Gretna; one son, James Johnson and wife, Jennie of Hurt; three brothers, Herbert Keatts, James Keatts and Harold Keatts; five sisters, Christine Perkins, Edna Patterson, Pearlene Kent, Lottie Lynch and Ella Mae Harvey; and three grandchildren, Michael Garcia, Jessica Johnson and Levi Johnson.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:30 P.M. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Altavista Memorial Park by Ronnie Simpson.

The family will receive friends at his residence.
