Harold Thomas Dalton, Sr., age 87 of Chatham formerly of Gretna died Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Danville Regional Medical Center. Born June 2, 1926 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late John L. Hurt Dalton and Laura Dove Dalton. He was predeceased by two brothers, Grady Dalton and Frank Dalton; and three sisters, Flossie Brumfield, Dora Dalton, and Hilda Brown. Mr. Dalton was a former employee of Burlington Mills; and enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, scratching Lottery tickets, and riding his scooter. He is survived by two sons, Larry T. Dalton of Danville and Harold T. Dalton, Jr. of the United Kingdom; three daughters, Betsy Durham of Hurt, Shelby Snead of Dry Fork, and Lori Brown of Dry Fork; and 10 grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Dove Family Cemetery by Rev. R.G. Rowland. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna is in charge of arrangements.
