Obituary

Chatham……….H. Blair Reynolds age 84 of 21656 US Highway 29, Chatham died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born November 1, 1930 in Pittsylvania County he was the son of the late Clifton Blair Reynolds and Lucille Nuckols Reynolds. He was predeceased by one sister, Betty Collins; two brother-in-laws Marshall Blair and Glenn Blair. Mr. Reynolds owned and operated Reynolds Farm Supply with his son, Tim and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gretna, where he served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons and was a former Sunday School Teacher. He was also a charter and lifetime member of the Gretna Rescue Squad where he served as captain for 5 years and had received his 45 year pin; he also taught first aid classes, served in many other offices, received the Squadman of the year award twice. He was a member of Anderson Masonic Lodge 258 A.F. & A.M. and had received his 50 year pin. Mr. Reynolds was also a lifetime member of the Gretna Fire Department and served on the Pittsylvania County Zoning Board. Blair greatly loved farming and was deeply devoted to his family, especially his 2 grandsons, Matt and Ben.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Blair Reynolds of the residence; one son, Tim Reynolds and his wife, Kim of Chatham; one daughter, Jennifer Koogler and her husband, Gary of Chatham; two grandsons, Matthew Blair Reynolds and Benjamin Morgan Reynolds; and a special dog, Scooter.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Gretna by Rev. Jonathan Hilliard, Rev. Kristen White and Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial with Masonic Rites by Anderson Lodge 258 A.F. & A.M. will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
The family suggests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Gretna, P.O. Box 339 Gretna, VA 24557 or to the Gretna Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 14 Gretna, VA 24557.
