Gretna……….Gracie Helen Giles Scott, age 84 of 23224 US Highway 29, Gretna died Monday, April 11, 2011 at her residence.
Born May 18, 1926 in Nottoway, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Hugh Giles and Brazie Taylor Giles. She was predeceased by her husband, James David Scott, a son, Harry Scott; two sisters, Elsie Scott, and Louise Mayhew; and a brother, Cornelius Giles. Mrs. Scott was a home maker. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and her grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Scott and his wife, Jane of Chatham, Dean Scott of Gretna, and Randy Scott of Gretna; two daughters, Lillian Burton and her husband, Bill of Prospect Hill, NC, and Glorie Sue Sigmon of Coeburn; two brothers, Anderson Giles of Lynch Station, and Marvin Giles of Gretna; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. Charles Scott.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:50 A.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
