Gracie Talbott Ashwell

Altavista……….Gracie Talbott Ashwell, age 95 of Altavista died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab.
Born September 27, 1919 in Campbell County she was a daughter of the late Hunter Talbott and Annie Robertson Talbott. She was predeceased by her husband, William Buford Ashwell; five brothers, Carlton Talbott, Harry "Chuck" Talbott, Louis Talbott, Chesley Talbott and an infant brother; and six sisters, Shelby Jean Talbott, Barbara Pillow, Anne Snyder, Lorene Thurman, Virginia Elliott and Mae Sargent. Mrs. Ashwell loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very protective of them. She enjoyed working with flowers; and telling tales and stories.
She is survived by two sons, Buford Lynn Ashwell of Altavista and Bradley Glenn Ashwell and his wife, Sue of Gladys; one daughter, Brenda Delores Dalton and her husband, McKinley of Gretna; four grandchildren, Brad Ashwell and his wife, Christy, Justin Dalton, Rachel Dalton and Jacob Dalton and three great-grandchildren, Iris Ashwell, Lila Ashwell and Levi Ashwell.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Gladys by Rev. Brad Hendrix. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and McKinley Dalton, 6016 Deerview Road, Gretna.
