Hurt……….Gloria Howard Newman, age 54 of Hurt died Thursday, May 2, 2019 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Born February 23, 1965 in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of Franklin Ogburn Howard of Altavista and Nancy Belle Burnette Blanks of Huddleston.  She attended Calvary Baptist Church.  She loved her flower garden, and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and taking care of her family.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Jeff Newman of the residence; one son, Dustin Glen Newman and fiancé, Ashley Walker of Hurt; three sisters, Ann Howard of Huddleston, Tina Aumock of Arizona, and Julie Hogan and husband, Ben of Gladys; and two grandchildren, Bentley Ryder Newman and Journey Saunders.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
