Gloria Jean Dalton Worley Barton Brumfield, 79, of Chatham, VA entered into her heavenly home on Thursday, June 27, 2024.  Gloria was born October 14, 1944,  the daughter of the late Swaney Webster Dalton and Rosalie Doyle Dalton.

Gloria was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Sam S. Worley, Sr., of which three children were born. She was then predeceased by her husband of seven years, Mickey Louie Barton and her husband of 16 years, Moncie Lee Brumfield.  She was also predeceased by one brother, Dennis Dalton; and one grandson, Jeffrey Payne, Jr.

Gloria was a member of Marion Baptist Church in recent years after moving to Chatham.  Prior to moving to Chatham, she had been a long time member of Elim Assembly of God of Altavista. Gloria was an active servant of God with her ultimate mission of reaching others for God.

Gloria retired from the Lane Company in Altavista, VA last working as a supervisor for the hardwood department.

Gloria is survived by her three children, Vicki Pickeral (Harry), Sam Worley, Jr. (Karen), and Rosalie Barker (Donnie). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Melissa Smith (Eric), Jessica Hedrick (Jody), Luke Pickeral (Shonie), Eugene Gregory (Mandy), Crystal Grubbs (Jason), Bo Worley (Megan), Melanie Mays (Bryan), Tammy Wilkerson (Michael), Samantha Ratcliff (Joshua), and Patrick Payne (Angie), 28 great grandchildren, Ben Smith (Shelby), Shawna Ryder (Jordan), DeShaune Smith, Tristan Smith, Chance Barnett, Summer Barnett (Zach), Shane Hedrick (Janie), Kendall Pickeral, Savanna Gregory, Daniel Gregory, Brandon Grubbs, Jared Grubbs, Cassadee Grubbs, Chandler Worley, Preslee Worley, Brantley White, Delilah Davis, Adrianna Gregory, Darryl Gregory, Jr., Andrew Wilkerson, Eli Mayhew, Joshua Wilkerson, Kaylee-Grace Wilkerson, Rhianna Payne-Bing, Mikailah Ratcliff, Emma Ratcliff, Jade Ratcliff, Lindsey Payne, Maddie Cox, Alyvia Cox, and Austen Payne,  and 4 great- great grandchildren, Levi Ryder, Brayden Adams, Khamdyn Franklin, and Braelynn Hedrick.

Gloria is also survived by her sisters, Naomi Overpeck (Karlie), Sharon Worley (Lee), and Karen Dalton, and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and her Aunt Betty.

The family would like to thank Shirley Mansfield, Gloria's caregiver, who soon became a part of our family for all  the care and love she provided.  There are no words to express all you have done for Granny, and for our family. Without your dedication and care, keeping granny at home as long as we did  would not have been possible. Thank you to the staff at Chatham Health and Rehab for their love and care for "Granny" when we were no longer able to keep her at home.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev.  Karlie Overpeck.  Burial will follow in the Worley Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
