Gretna……….Glenn Cecil Bennett, age 70 of Gretna died Friday, March 11, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born February 28, 1946 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Arnett Ray Bennett and Nellie Farthing Bennett. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Melissa Ann Yeatts. Mr. Bennett was a member of West End Church of Christ. He was a former service manager for Osborne Chevrolet and Green Chevrolet; and also a drove for Nick's Towing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding around the country side and NASCAR.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Yeatts and husband, Nathan of Gretna; two brothers, Garland Bennett and wife, Kathryn of Gretna and Nelson Bennett of New Jersey; Sarah Price of the residence; two grandchildren, Jessica Stowe and husband, Brandon and Brandy Yeatts; and one great-granddaughter, Rylee Stowe.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Roy Parker, Minister, and Ronnie Pickral. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
