Gretna…….Gladys Myers Yeatts, age 90 of 185 Sandy Road, Gretna died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at her residence.
Born April 19, 1923 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Reuben Myers and Cordie George Myers. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert P. Yeatts; one son, Kenneth Ray Yeatts; one brother, Herman Myers; and three sisters, Florence Ramsey, Mag Dalton, and Loutricia Jacobs. Mrs. Yeatts was a member of Piney Fork Baptist Church and; and a member and former President of the WMU. She retired from Leggett's; and enjoyed quilting and sewing.
She is survived by two sons, Jesse Yeatts and his wife, Bitha of Gretna, and Lowell (Rudy) Yeatts and his wife, Dorothy of Gretna; two daughters, Gloria Doss and her husband, Linwood of Gretna, and Pat Dalton and her husband, Roger of Gretna; one sister, Virgie Nichols of Lynch Station; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Piney Fork Baptist Church by Rev. Tyler Daniels and Rev. Ernest Roebuck. Burial will follow in the Yeatts Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
