Gladys Towler Osborne

Chatham…..Virginia Gladys Towler Osborne, age 78 of 1297 Oxford Road, Chatham died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Chatham Health and Rehab Center.
Born July 26, 1933 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Moses Towler and Mary Matherley Towler. Mrs. Osborne was predeceased by her husband, Randy Osborne; one son, Stacy Osborne, one sister, Sallie Calloway; and two brothers, Billy Wayne Towler, and Gordon Wyatt Towler. She was a member of Chatham Pentecostal Holiness Church, and an employee of Craddock-Terry Shoe Corportation. Mrs. Osborne enjoyed traveling, cooking, and quilting.
She is survived by two sons, Nelson Osborne and his wife, Lillian of Chatham, Steve Osborne and his wife, Phyllis of Chatham; two daughters, Juanita Hines and her husband, Wayne of Hurt, and Joyce Shelton of Chatham; two brothers, Curtis Towler of Hurt, and Archie Towler of Monroe; two Sisters, Ruby Smith of Gretna, and Barbara Kendrick of Chatham; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Greenbay Christian Church by Lee Ashely, Minister and Rev. David Prillaman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Monday, December 19, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
