Chatham………Gladys Betsy Daniel, age 94 of Chatham died Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born July 5, 1927 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late George Washington Daniel and Martha Ann Hutcherson Daniel.  She was predeceased by one daughter, Nancy Irene Daniel; two grandchildren, David "Noody" Daniel, Jr., and Nikki Daniel; four sisters, Minnie Parker, Rosie Daniel, Mary Daniel, and Addie Daniel; one brother, Sam Daniel; and the father of her children, James Daniel.  Gladys was a member of Chatham Pentecostal Holiness Church and she was a home maker.  She enjoyed reading her Bible and praying for everyone, farming, cooking, and taking care of her kids and grandchildren.  She ministered to everyone through her life and words.  She was a light in the darkness.  The day before her death she stated she was ready to go home to be with the Lord.

She is survived by ten children, George Daniel and wife, Dorothy, Bill Daniel, David Daniel, Sr., Richard Daniel, Gladys Buchanan and husband, Judd, Velma Gibson and husband, Darrell, Susie Daniel, Leonard Daniel and wife, Bonnie, Brenda Lee and husband, Charles, and Robert Daniel and wife, Karen; two sisters, Madie Cook, and Georgie Moore; 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2022 at the Daniel Family Cemetery by Pastor Obdulio Berrios.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
