Sandy Level…….Gladys Catherine Blair, age 89 of Sandy Level died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at her residence.
Born May 2, 1926 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late James McCoy Pickrel and Annie Towler Pickrel. Mrs. Blair was predeceased by her husband, Odell Blair; one daughter, Cheryl Blair; one brother, Jack Pickrel; and two sisters, Eva Sangree and Blanche Parkes. Mrs. Blair was a former employee at Universal Electric. She loved gardening and working outside, especially with her flowers.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Blair and his wife, Wendy of Sandy Level and Richard Blair of Lynchburg; one daughter, Bonnye Blair of Chatham; five grandchildren, Michelle Crews, Timothy Catron, Kristi Dubois, Jay Blair and Jared Blair; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Liberty Memorial Cemetery by Wayne Grinnell, Minister.
