Gretna….…..Gladys Cocke Blair, age 93 of Gretna died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the Edley Place in Lynchburg.
Born July 23, 1922 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late, Giles Owen Cocke and Toy Owen Cocke. Mrs. Blair was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Wyatt Blair and a brother, Gordon Cocke. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gretna where she was a member of the WMU: Group 3, Fidelis Sunday School Class and was a Charter Member of Care and Share. Mrs. Blair was a teacher's aide with Pittsylvania County Schools.
She is survived by one daughter, Anne Blair of Gretna; one son, Greg Blair of Rustburg; one brother, Elmer Cocke of Gretna; one sister, Adylene Shelton of Chatham; three grandchildren, Amanda Blair of Rustburg, Brad Pickerel and wife, Kim of Gainesville, GA and Barry Pickerel and wife, Julie of Ball Ground, GA; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016 at Gretna Burial Park by Pastor Rick Cole.
