Gretna…..Geraldine Meadows Wilson, age 75 of 2620 Piney Grove Road, Gretna, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at UVA Medical Center.
Born April 1, 1938 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Meadows and Gracie Moser Meadows. Mrs. Wilson was predeceased by her husband, Carl Corbin Wilson. She was a member of Java Church of God of Prophecy where she was the song leader for over 40 years. She was a retired employee with Sara Lee. Mrs. Wilson loved going on trips, shopping, flowers, yard work, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Edwards and husband, Danny of Rustburg and Sheila Motley and her husband, Wayne of Chatham; one brother, Leon Meadows and his wife, Cathy of Chatham; one sister, Linda Reynolds of Chatham; three grandchildren, Jarrett Motley and his wife, Donna, Colby Edwards, and Chandler Edwards; and nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 10, 2014 at Java Church of God of Prophecy by Pastor Edward Pope and Pastor Gary Vernon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Java Church of God of Prophecy and other times will be at the residence.
