Hurt……….George "Pinky" Oliver Talbott, age 87 of Hurt died Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born April 3, 1937 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late George Raymond Talbott and Thelma Jacobs Talbott.  He was predeceased by one sister, Naomi Overstreet.  Mr. Talbott was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.  He  was a welder with Local Union #10 Pipefitters and Welders for over 50 years.  He enjoyed NASCAR, baseball, going to the beach and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Gilliam Talbott of the residence; one son, George Oliver Talbott, Jr. and wife, Denise of Hurt; three daughters, Joanne Propst and husband, Jake of Florida, Lisa Loving and husband, Frank of Charles City and Kathy Ashby and husband, Tim of Hurt; one brother, Sidney Talbott of Hurt; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at New Prospect Baptist Church by Rev. Brady Willis.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at New Prospect Baptist Church and other times will be at the residence.
