George William Paggans

Hurt......George William Paggans, age 73, of Hurt died Monday, August 23, 2010 in Lynchburg Health & Rehab Center.
Born August 27, 1936 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Everett Paggans and Claudine Newman Paggans. Mr. Paggans was a retired employee of Sprint and was an US Army veteran. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Harris Paggans of the residence; one son, Robert W. Paggans of Altavista; two daughters, Janet P. Myers and husband, Oscar Myers, Jr. of Gretna, and Brenda P. Carroll and husband, Kevin of Hurt; five grandchildren, Michelle Myers, Mary Beth Arnold, Robbie Paggans, Alex Carroll, and Micaela Carroll; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Brady Willis. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Altavista.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
