On Thursday, October 13, 2022, the McGuire family lost their hero and rock due to an unexpected medical emergency. George Thomas "GT" McGuire III was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on November 9th, 1963. While attending Gretna High School, he became interested in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the USMC as an infantry mortar man from 1982 to 1986. After leaving the Corps, he became a truck driver traveling across the United States, which led him to finding his beautiful wife Edrica in New Mexico. They went on to have 4 children, and a host of grandchildren whom GT loved endlessly and fiercely.

GT is survived by his sister Carolyn Young; wife Edrica McGuire; daughter Angelina Zamora and her three children Savanna, Olivia, and Thomas; daughter Vanessa Bays and her two children Josiah Womack and Lilia Murphy; daughter Samantha Hayes, son-in-law Taylor Hayes, and their two children Briella and Cooper Hayes; daughter Sierra Ayers and her son Dominic Swan; and his dog Diesel. He is predeceased by his mother Madelyn Keesee-McGuire, father George McGuire Jr, brothers Donald and Thomas Keesee, and sister Carol Ann Smith. His tireless love and devotion to his family were evident throughout his life and the family will always carry his memory in their hearts.
