Gretna………George "Dean" Mayhew, age 72 of Gretna, died Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at his residence.

Born September 2, 1952 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late John William Mayhew and Emogene Guthrie Mayhew. He was predeceased by one brother, Larry Mayhew and one sister, Connie Mayhew.

He is survived by two sons, Jonathan Mayhew of Texas and Russell Simpson of Gretna; one brother, Michael Mayhew of Gretna; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Per his request there will be no public service.
