Gretna…..George Thomas Jones, age 57, of Gretna died Monday, September 24, 2012 at Virginia Baptist Hospital,
Born January 5, 1955 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Howard Thomas Jones and Alice Canada Jones. He was predeceased by a brother, Leslie Wayne Jones. He was a member of Spring Road Baptist Church, and a graduate of Brookville High School. He loved to hunt, ride horses and his four wheeler.
He is survived by one daughter, Cheyenne Jones of Gretna; one son, Trevor Andrew Jones of Amherst; two step-daughters, Tara Nicole McCurry of Gretna and Andrea Fitzgerald of Roseland; two sisters, Patricia Woodall of Concord and Kathy Price of Lynchburg; and four grandchildren, Wyatt McCurry, Jeffrey Keenen, Jenna Fitzgerald and Emma Lantz.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Irby Family Cemetery by Rev. George Schaefer.
